GoXLR setup guide
A clean first-time setup for GoXLR and GoXLR Mini: microphone gain, virtual channels, Discord, OBS, routing and profiles. Follow the order below so later settings do not hide an earlier problem.

Install the app and connect the mixer
Install GoXLR Utility, connect the GoXLR directly to your computer with USB, attach power, then open the utility. Avoid an unpowered USB hub during initial setup.

Choose the microphone type
Open Mic Setup and select Dynamic, Condenser or the 3.5 mm input. Condenser microphones require 48 V phantom power; dynamic microphones normally do not.

Set clean microphone gain
Speak at your normal streaming volume and raise gain until strong phrases sit near −12 dB without reaching red. Set the gate amount low while establishing gain, then add only enough gate to suppress room and keyboard noise.

Assign Windows apps to channels
Send games to Game or System, Discord to Chat, music players to Music and browser alerts to a channel you can control independently. Windows remembers the output choice for each application.

Configure Discord and OBS
In Discord, use Chat Mic as the input and Chat as the output. In OBS, add Broadcast Stream Mix as the desktop or auxiliary source so OBS receives the mix defined in GoXLR routing.

Build the routing matrix
Decide what reaches Headphones, Broadcast Stream Mix, Chat Mic and Line Out. Keep each destination intentional; your headphone mix does not need to match the stream mix.

Save a profile and test
Save the complete setup as a profile, record a short local OBS clip, and listen for mic clipping, doubled desktop audio, missing chat and music that is too loud under speech.
Quick signal check
Talk while music and Discord are active. Your microphone should stay clear above the other sources, OBS should show one desktop mix instead of duplicated meters, and muting a physical fader should affect only its assigned channel.
