GoXLR routing guide
The routing matrix answers one question: which input should reach which output? Columns are sources such as Mic, Chat, Music, Game and System. Rows are destinations such as Headphones and Broadcast Stream Mix. A checked cell connects the two.
Configure each destination
Headphones
Your private monitor mix.
Enable the sources you need to hear. This can include music or alerts that are intentionally excluded from the broadcast.
Broadcast Stream Mix
The combined signal sent to OBS or recording software.
Enable Mic, Chat, Game or System as needed. Disable copyrighted music when your stream or VOD should not receive it.
Chat Mic
The microphone signal sent to Discord or in-game voice chat.
Usually enable Mic only. Adding Music or System sends desktop audio into voice chat and often creates echo.
Line Out
An analog output for speakers or a second streaming computer.
Choose either a clean source set or the specific channels needed by the connected device. Avoid monitoring this output back into GoXLR.
Recommended streaming baseline
- Headphones: Mic, Chat, Music, Game and System.
- Broadcast Stream Mix: Mic, Chat, Game and System.
- Chat Mic: Mic only.
- Line Out: leave empty unless hardware is connected.
Fix doubled or echoing audio
Check that OBS captures Broadcast Stream Mix only once. In Discord, select Chat Mic for input and Chat for output. Then make sure System, Chat or Music are not checked in the Chat Mic row. Echo usually means one source returns through two paths.
